Fourth workshop of the NuTS thematic network, Strasbourg

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 4th workshop of the CNRS–INSU thematic network Numérique en Terre Solide (NuTS).

This edition will focus on data assimilation as a bridge between observations, physical modeling, and data-driven approaches, with the objective of fostering exchanges between solid Earth sciences and neighboring communities (hydrology, atmospheric sciences, Earth system science). The workshop will emphasize cross-disciplinary dialogue, uncertainty quantification, multi-scale dynamics, and hybrid physical–machine learning approaches.

Location: Manufacture des Tabacs, Strasbourg
Dates: from May 26, 2026 (1:00 pm) to May 29, 2026 (noon)

Lunches and coffee breaks will be covered by the network. Travel and accommodation are at the participants’ expense. A social dinner will be organized.
